Are sticks and pucks allowed on the trails?
Definitely! We encourage guests to bring their sticks and pucks along. We also have a few extras if you forget yours at home! Under current Ontario public health rules, games or shinny are not permitted at this time.
Are strollers allowed?
Absolutely! Anything that makes it easier for the whole family to enjoy the skating trail.
Do you have to buy your tickets in advance online?
No you can also buy your tickets on arrival. We accept cash, debit and credit onsite. You do need to reserve in advance if visiting on Saturday or Sunday.
Are the trails lit after dark?
The trails are partially lit. To fully enjoy the trails at night, we recommend bringing a headlamp. Headlamps are also available for purchase onsite for $8+HST.
How long is the skating trail?
Our trails are over 3km long and includes a series of hills, twists and turns. We also have some rinks throughout for more open area where guests can skate around.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes we love having furry friends at RiverOak! We ask that dogs be on leashes so that everyone can enjoy the trails.
Are skating aids available?
We have a few skating aids available onsite for use free of charge.
What are the ice conditions?
The skating trails are outdoor ice and impacted by weather conditions. On warm days, the ice can get soft and choppy. The surface can also crack and be uneven in spots. For daily conditions call 613-212-0077.
Do you have skate rentals?
We have figure skates and hockey skates in various sizes for rent provided by Replay Sports. Skate rentals are $12+HST and include a helmet.
Is there free parking?
Yes there is free parking onsite.
